Ive just tried quicktime alternative and the medialook plugin but tty still says

00:01:10 ERR : The operation cannot be performed because the pins are not connected.
00:01:10 ERR : One of the parameters is invalid.
00:01:10 ERR : A specified class is not registered in the registration database.
00:01:10 ERR : A specified class is not registered in the registration database.
00:01:10 * : Make sure to install “Quicktime Alternative” or “MediaLooks Quicktime Plugin” before trying to playback quicktime content.
00:01:10 : Adding node to filtergraph: FileStream (DShow9)
00:01:10 ERR : This method tried to access an invalid pointer.
00:01:10 : Connecting from: FileStream (DShow9).Video to: VideoTexture (EX9.Texture VMR9 YUVMixingMode).Video
00:01:10 * : nil pins can not be connected in directshow graph
00:01:10 ERR : The operation cannot be performed

Any Ideas of what to try?

Did you try with other betas and/or other versions of quicktime alt?

Tried betas to 14, but not earlier qt. I have had other issues with codecs not registring on this machine despite it being a recent installation os xp, I wonder if it a deeper os issue…
