MUSE 2 + VVVV

Hi VVVV community, my name is Carola and I’ve been using VVVV for a couple weeks only. I’m into building diy synthesizers <:-)

I’m looking to integrate the MUSE 2 EEG headset with VVVV for a project. Most of the tutorials I’ve found are focused on using MUSE with Ableton or TouchDesigner, and they recommend using the Mind Monitor app for data capture. (via OSC)

I would appreciate any guidance or resources on how to set up this integration with VVVV. Has anyone here successfully connected a MUSE sensor with VVVV? If so, could you share any tips or steps on how to achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your help <3

Best regards,

This thread has some info on it and maybe @zeos can share his efforts.

Thank you very much bjoern :)

Hi there,
well this was some years ago…

perhaps going with muse-osc and use the OSC messages in gamma

updated:

I remember now, that I was trying to connect with gamma directly to the LSL streams of BlueMuse and use the data, got something there back then, I think using liblsl-Csharp.

a native BLE VL is the long way… using Muse.NET, but I did’n have much success with that and went with python streaming OSC to vvvv.

best of luck!

Hi @zeos and @bjoern

I am writing to you because I was able to receive the OSC data. I now see OSC Message (IO.OSC) in the output of the OSCServer. The app I’m using is called Mind Monitor, and it sends five types of waves. I imagine we’ll need to extract each one from a spread. Tomorrow morning, I’ll be experimenting and sharing progress (and likely some questions) with you."
