hey chroma, we’re aware of the problem and are working on a solution. see also: Midi Trouble with Leonardo / Invalid parameter passed to a system function
I am looking forward to a solution, for now I uninstalled the updates and everthing works fine again.
@joreg be aware, as i didnt mentionned it, the midi out is still working ( but needs also to be checked surely). good luck devs !
Hey! Is there any workaround or estimated time when it will be fixed?:)
so to clarify, we have 2 issues:
vvvv-installation-folder\packs\dependencies overwriting the existing file with the same name. What a relief to have all my MIDI features restored!
Thank you @joreg for you reactivity!
Everything works fine again, thank you!!
OK so vvvv gamma 7.1-preview 175 should fix this?
If so I can test on my second machine that has the update
update:
Here is an article what the ill-fated update is supposed to do, which does indeed sound pretty cool: Making music with MIDI just got a real boost in Windows 11 | Windows Experience Blog
Meanwhile does anyone know what the update was called, so I can uninstall it or is there no real way to do that? The last feature update of Windows 11 I have is 23H2, so it must have been one of the smaller ones.
Also just looked on their dedicated Discord and saw that some fixes from them are coming:
Hopefully those will fix the crashes in vvvv.
@seltzdesign so you’re saying preview 185 still doesn’t fix issues for you? if so which of the two i mention are you talking about? 1) or 2)?
Okay, yes, everything is working again.
The last I read was that there was no solution for 2) yet, so I thought that still wasn’t resolved. But yes, binding works again.
Thanks!
Hello there,
Openning an old patch, I realized that my binding with public channel work, but its not with the last MIDI node, but with the “MidiControllerModule (experimental)”
And the new MIDI node make vvvv crash
I guess this is related to the current topic
and a potential (alternative) solution is this:
update:
re Midi bindings: our understanding is that latest by the start of May all Windows PCs will have gotten an update that will fix this issue also. so by then everything should be back to normal.
