Live preview for dropdowns

Problem statement

Almost everything is reactive in vvvv, which is great. But but for dropdowns we’d always have to click and select different values to see their result.

Describe the feature you’d like

Live preview when hovering over the dropdown options. For example, here I’m moving my cursor over the dropdown options in Affinity Designer:

If this could be implemented in both patch editor and inspector that’d be great. Bonus points if the keyboard accessibility to move between dropdown options using arrow keys is also there.

This feature can be useful in:

  • Previewing a blend mode effect like shown in the video above
  • Previewing the effect of choosing a different Transition mode in Filter node (Linear, Sine, Quad, Cubic…)
  • Everywhere else where the user has many options to choose from

Nice one, in beta one could scroll over an Enum IOBox to quickly try different values.
