Been meaning to suggest something for a while… but it would be nice if there was some indicator when help packs are added or updated. Part of this was inspired by how many help packs used to (but much better these days) not be up to date. Having this apparent could help with knowing/fixing that, but also it’s just nice to know when there’s something new to check out. I can think of many ways to implement this of varying complexities, and can’t say what would be most right and I realize that it gets weirder the more one considers minor versions as far as what counts as ‘new’. I also know some of these ideas might just be too much clutter… but I’m just going to list what’s come to mind.
- Some highlight of new this minor version (of VVVV or the given Nuget) - maybe since last stable version for VVVV itself?
- An indicator if it was saved using a prior version of vvvv or the nuget… with possibly a rollover giving the versions of each the help was last saved under?
(of course some nuget help files will involve other nugets, but I feel like that’s getting too complicated to handle)
bonus options:
- some flag to indicate you’ve viewed that help before?
-maybe a show only visited/unvisited for finding help you use regularly, or boning up on things you hadn’t thought to check yet? - show/hide any of the above to prevent clutter?
some of these flags could just be another set of different color dots after the name perhaps, or another form of highlighting (ie italic, underlined, idk)
anyways, just some thoughts.
