Great news: the “Format” node has been updated to match modern Gamma much better!

Format (String) has four inputs for a reason?

I use string formatting a lot. But I keep getting the same question - does it make any sense that the Format node has exactly four inputs? Maybe it’s a legacy thing? Can we simplify life a bit and try to make a modern node for formatting strings with one input by default, incrementing them with the already familiar CTRL+ combination? [image]

I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but it’s likely to be something I’d like to add while the focus is there.

I’ve been using a wrapper around FormatSequence for over six months that allows me to connect objects, but not specific types. This makes it possible to connect types such as numbers, strings and dates to a single ‘Format’. While still being able to format.

Could you add such functionality? Perhaps in a separate node for compatibility?
In my opinion, this is the best implementation.
