Write to a .wmv?

Is this possible?
I know you can write to an image sequence or an uncompressed .avi, but can you use different codecs with the Writer node somehow? So that you could write to .wmv for example?
Can the VLC node do this somehow?

check Compress (DShow9). if you put that before a Writer (DShow9) you can choose the encoding. had a quick look and it doesn’t offer me WMV directly but if i choose the ffdshow encoder i can then in its property page choose a WMV encoder.
