Text don't appear ex9

hallo,
i hope you can help me, i have a problem and can´t solve it :( if i use the renderer ex9, the text function doesn´t work - no text appears at the renderer window. (i installled the “diextX august redist” version before, which is linked from this website) i hope you can help me. thank you very much!!!

helo gust,

as i understand you seem to have 2 options at the moment:

  • install the addonpack01 (which works with slimdx-august)
  • install slimdx-march (which works with the text-plug shipping with the main download).

i tried both but there is a new problem :( i can´t install the slimdx, neither the august nor the march-version - the error is:

“There is aproblem with the windows installer package. a programm run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. contact yout support personnel or package vendor” (i have windows vista)

do you know a solution for this problem - can you help me again? thank you very much!

hej, it´s me again. i tried the same thing on an pc, on wich xp runs, the installation of divx march version was no problem (so that seems to be a vista problem) but the text don´t appears on the renderer winow, so anything i do is wrong, but i have no clue what :( (if i use the gdi renderer i have no problem) maybe it helps if i describe what i am doing:

  • open the vvvv.exe (as administrator)
  • double left click → renderer (ex9)
  • double left click → text (ex9)
  • drag a line from text to renderer (output left down corner to left top corner)

→ nothing appears in the renderer window :( (even if i change color, font size, text etc.)

hen try the august slimDX… as i understood joreg, the Text in the vvvv download needs the march version, but if you install the addonpack the node gets overwritten by a newer version, which needs the august version… does this solve it?

ok on the xp-pc works everything very good :)

but on my vista pc i still have the problem that i cannot install any of this slimdx versions. the error is:

strange, then instead of the end-user runtime try the slimdx-august-sdk. typically for developers, but shouldn’t make a difference except that it may work for you.

this sounds like the former installtion was not finished correctly. you can try to uninstall any slimDX you find in the start menu or in the Add/Remove Programms menu. there is also this tool from microsoft wich can delete installer entries, maybe you find slimdx in the list:

or another tool from ms.
