How can I make my subpatch always appear in the nodebrowser outside of this document?
Ive tried copying it next to packs, in vvvv root.
What am I missing.

There is no way to add nodes globally to vvvv. You would have to create a document containing your Process definitions, and reference that in every new VL document you are working on. It is kind of a first step in creating and curating your little own node library.
There was once a feature request to automatically add a file dependency for every new document, but I can not find it right now. Must have been in the chat sometime…
