Spliting stereo audio input

The Audioin node lets you choose between stereo and monophonic, but doesn’t let you choose which channel you’re accepting.

Is it possible to split a stereo input into two different streams?

no, this is a directshow limitation.

the RMS node will give a spread with 2 values when the input is set to stereo, so you can use a GetSlice in that case
