I think the the closed pin is not working. it seems to be always closed. using the cycles pin looks like that:
The “Closed” input only makes sense when stroking the shape, not when filling it.
okay, i see. i thought that might be the issue. apparently i am expecting the cycles parameter to behave differently, like cutting pieces out of a cake or drawing pacman. should that not be the behaviour when you think segments and cycles?
oh i am sorry there is a segment (advanced) that can do just that. just found the help patch. having the help patch open i can spot it in the node browser. but cant find it from a new patch with just skia referenced. i am confused.
nevermind it pops up in the node browser on a later preview just fine.
The advanced node is from addons I guess.
Of course, thats it. mystery solved, and addons save the day once again :)
