Just using the performance meter to try and find out where the heavy bits of my patch are, Pink and Cyan are big everything else is tiny, so what does update view mean exactly? Is it gfx card or cpu based, present is presumably gfx card?

update view is the user interface part, like redrawing ioboxes and stuff. this a cpu issue. note that you can disable the user interface in the main menu.
