Nvidia flex in beta?

I know this thread closed a while ago, but with the more recent vvvv improvement and features (compute shaders, buffer managements, gamma and VL) I wonder how easy or impossible it would be to implement flex (or the more recent PhysiX). Any hints @microdee ?

The Touch designer implementation is nice and tempting indeed, but I will try to remain within vvvv as long as I possibly can.

well stride comes with bepu physics, there @bjoern did some wrapping for it

Not sure if there is nuget tho…

There is: NuGet Gallery | VL.Stride.BepuPhysics 0.12.0

No idea why it does not show up in the packs browser. @joreg

Great to hear indeed @bjoern !!
I think I managed to install it in command line, but sadly (every attempt to open a gamma patch has been a struggle for me, I might be cursed) none of the patches open, i get this.

Which vvvv version are you using? It was created with / for 7.3. 7.4 should also work. Latest 8.0 previews use a newer version of Stride, which has some changes in regard to Bepu iirc, so it probably won’t work.

Make sure to install the package with:

nuget install VL.Stride.BepuPhysics -prerelease

The -prerelease flag is required because BepuPhysics only exists as a prerelease package on nuget.org.

I have gamma 7.0 running, and trying not to multiply versions as getting gamma to run at all was such a challenge (thank you @joreg for the remote support !). Thanks a lot for the info @bjoern , I’ll trying to get 7.3 on another machine, but based on previous attempts, I doubt I’ll succeed. I have a couple of nice leads for beta that I’m quite excited about!

@vux i need you :slight_smile:

It sure what issues you have running multiple versions of vvvv honestly, GammaLauncher sorts most of it… The thing evolve, what do you expect? Last year I was using yarn for web now it’s pnpm…

@Joanie_AntiVJ i’m getting the same error you showed with 7.0 but not with 7.4! there should really be no reason to not always use latest stable versions. especially within major branches 6.x, 7.x, … what you get is mostly bug fixes.

Thank you @joreg, we usually avoid any software update if it’s not an absolute necessity (this has led to projects breaking) but in this case it’s good to know!

@bjoern Thank you for the nuget command line, I have BepuPhysics running, grateful for the implementation! I’m mostly looking for cloth atm, which I’m unsure Bepu supports?

Also looking into Gea.NaiveGPU which has stunning performance still @dottore :fire:

Early Flex tests, 256x256, beta 42.

giphy

Super impressive performance, 120fps in 4k, on an old laptop !

How did you get this running in beta?

Astra gives amazing results implementing libraries, also so great to learn optimized architecture.
