regarding v4 usage, the mainboard chipset should be the same hersteller as the processor(Intel) or the graphiccard(Nvidia) ?
more clearly:
if i have Intel core 2 processor, Nvidia graphicscard and must buy a mainboard, im checking thru the parameters in any buyers catalog for compatibility (socket,…) and under chipset, i can pick:
- Intel (same as processor)
- Nvidia (same as graphicscard)
- Via (other)
will this choice affect vvvv performance?
most likely not. but you could check some gaming-benchmarks to see if there are certain combinations that score better.
Hello
You can try a Asus P5N32E-SLI wuth a NVIDIA™ nForce 680i SLI chipset
We use it on 3 workastations with vvvv with really good performances.
I would recommend to you a Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 to put on .
You can try Asus P5E3 Deluxe with x 38 which included DDR III support. It’s quite more expensive ;)
There 's the Intel® 975X chipset which seems to be performant too
Here is our config :
Power : Hyper 730 W
CPU : Quad Q6600 @ 2.7 Ghz
Mainboard : P5N32E-SLI
Ram : OCZ 2 x 1 Go PC 6400 HZ
GPU : 2 x XFX 8800 GTS 320Mo
HDD : Samsung Sata / Raptor 10k
Cooler : Noctua 9mm/12 mm ( Important to maintain low temp (40°) and good perfs and stability)
