FileStream vlc dx11 slowing down

I have done a VLC DX 11 spreadable video player, I change the active video with a Peakspread, everythings works fine with my first tested 7 clips. only one clip is playing at the same time, alpha blending works fine.

Now I tried to load 14 clips, VLC getting slow, vvvv crashed. where is the limit? VLC settings?

What other possibilities exist to change the videos.

some more informations: I changed from the original 3/2 aspect ration to HD, a significant improvement. What codec would you recommend?
