Current gamma 5.3 builds crash on startup

Dear Devvvvs,

I’ve recently found that current gamma builds don’t run on my work system anymore. The editor opens, shows an hourglas cursor and then closes without any further indication of what went wrong. I’ve not yet completely narrowed it down to a specific version when the issue was intoduced, but found the following things:

• 5.3-0138 runs
• 5.3-0192 and newer do not (that’s when i noticed so it’s not specifically related to that exact build)
• It seems somehow related to an extension as 5.3-0192 runs when started without extensions

edit: I’ve just tried some more builds and it seems that the breaking change was introduced with 5.3-0192 as 5.3-0191 and previous builds run flawless on this machine. Could it be related to this change?

For me all previews <=5.3-0191 also work, but starting with 5.3-0192 they crash on startup.

changelog of preview 192, seems reasonable that it could lead to some problems when loading dlls?
edit: just saw that you appended the changelog in your initial post, sorry.

Thanks for looking up the commit which caused the crash for you. Upcoming builds will have that commit reverted and should therefor work for you. A preview build should be available tomorrow.

edit: Also tested 2023.5-0226 for good measure which is also working
