when the installation fails with a “Download failed” error, i doubt it has something to do with the operating system. sounds rather like a problem with the connection.
i’ve just tried installing it and the download worked. i wonder if it was a temporary glitch and you can just try it again. or if you have a chance to try it on a different pc?!
unrelated: you installed the x86 version, instead of the x64 version. is that intentional? (because it would be rather untypical, but you may have a reason for it).
I seem to recall having similar issues at one point installing from Costa Rica. A VPN did the trick back then.
Could it maybe be a DNS/location related issue?
Have you tried the offline installer?
thank you very much, guys. As everyone pointed out, the issue lay in the choice of installation file rather than the OS itself. I tried using an offline installer that didn’t include the add-on, and it worked. That was a huge help.
